This is the first year that the marathon has run, with some excellent support.
The event was held on Sunday 29th October 2006.
It started at 10am near The Grand on the Leas, the race was a distance of 13.1 miles, from Folkestone to Hythe and back, mainly on flat promenade and mainly traffic-free, and will be run under South of England Athletic Association rules.
It is hoped that this will be a yearly event.

And they are off!
The runners do a loop before heading down to the sea front.
Well done to all Runners and supporters of this event.
